Remove EXIF & GPS from Photos

Remove EXIF & GPS from Photos for free in your browser. No installation, account or file upload is required.

Files are processed directly in your browser and are never uploaded to a server.

How to use this tool

Choose one or more JPG, PNG or WEBP photos. The tool first lists what they contain — GPS location, camera model, capture date and other metadata — then removes it. Several photos can be cleaned at once and downloaded as a ZIP.

Private browser processing

Your image is processed locally in your browser. It is not sent to or stored on the ImgSimple server.

Fast and free

Only the metadata blocks are cut out of the file; the image data is copied byte for byte, so quality does not change. The orientation value and colour profile are kept so the photo still displays the right way round and in the right colours. Everything happens in your browser.

Clean photos before posting them on marketplaces, blogs or forums, or before sending original files by email or cloud links, so they do not reveal where you live or which phone you use.

Limitations

iPhone HEIC photos are not edited directly; convert them with HEIC to JPG, which drops the metadata. Information that is visible in the picture itself — street signs, house numbers, faces — is not removed.

Frequently asked questions

Don't social networks remove the location anyway?

Many do when you upload, but original-file transfers, email, cloud sharing, marketplaces and blog attachments often pass the metadata along unchanged. Removing it first is the safe option.

How do I stop new photos from storing my location?

Turn off location tagging in your phone's camera settings. On iPhone: Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Camera > Never.

Is this tool free?

Yes. It is free to use without signup or watermarks.

Is my image uploaded?

No. Image processing happens locally in your browser.
